From its versatile design to its mighty powertrains, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 lives up to its reputation as a Pro Grade™ truck. Here’s a look at what this capable all-American pickup brings to the table.
Power and performance
The Sierra 1500 lets you pick between four capable engine options. It comes standard with the spirited TurboMax™ engine, which delivers 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. With this dynamo under the hood, you’ll be able to tow a maximum of 9,500 pounds and haul up to 2,240 pounds.
For more power, you can choose between two gas-powered V8 dynamos. The 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 delivers 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, while the 6.2-liter V8 offers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. And for the model’s maximum towing power, go with the Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six engine. It harnesses 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque to enable up to 13,300 pounds of towing. And since the AT4X now comes standard with this diesel dynamo, you won’t have to choose between towing power and off-road-ready performance.
Off-road capability
The GMC Sierra 1500 enables your adventurous spirit. Choose between two off-road-ready models: the AT4 and the AT4X. The AT4 helps you explore the outdoors with underbody skid plates, a factory-installed 2-inch suspension lift, and optimized traction thanks to its automatic locking rear differential and two-speed Autotrac® transfer case.
Kick things up a notch with the AT4X model. This premium off-roading machine builds upon the AT4 with boron steel skid plates, a steel front bumper, and Multimatic DSSV® dampers for a smoother ride on rough roads. Plus, its front and rear electronic locking differentials help you drive confidently on rugged terrain.
Built to get the job done right
The GMC Sierra 1500’s bold styling goes hand-in-hand with its versatile amenities. You won’t have to leave your favorite tools or camping equipment behind thanks to the Sierra’s class-leading 89.1-cubic-foot truck bed. But you don’t have to choose the long bed configuration to enjoy plenty of versatile cargo room. The short bed model overshadows the competition with a best-in-class short bed cargo volume of 63.9 cubic feet. When you’re loading the truck bed, you won’t have to worry about dents and dings when you choose the available CarbonPro carbon fiber truck bed. It shrugs off impacts, scratches, corrosion, and temperatures that would ruin other truck beds.
When it’s time to get your gear, the Sierra makes it a snap to access the cargo bed. The CornerStep rear bumper and the available six-function MultiPro™ tailgate make it easy to climb into the truck bed and unload your cargo. You can even reconfigure the MultiPro™ tailgate into a work bench or a bed extender, so you can get even more utility out of your truck. This innovative tailgate even offers a built-in weatherproof speaker, a power outlet, and bed lighting to make both work and play easier.
